Press Fitting Hire Across the UK

Getting reliable press-fit joints

The biggest advantage of press fitting over soldering is removing the hot works permit and fire watch requirement entirely, which matters on occupied buildings, hospitals, and anywhere a flame simply is not permitted, a press tool makes a permanent joint in seconds with no naked flame at all.

Jaw and system compatibility is worth double-checking before booking rather than after, most manufacturers design their jaws to work only with their own fitting system, so confirm which brand of fittings you are using and hire the matching jaw set rather than assuming a generic jaw will seat correctly.

Always visually check the O-ring is seated correctly before pressing, and pressure test the completed joint before covering it in a wall or floor void, a poorly seated O-ring is the main cause of a press-fit joint leaking, and it is far easier to spot and fix before the pipework is boxed in.
