Metal Cutting Hire Across the UK

Cutting metal cleanly and safely

Disc cutters are the fastest option for rebar and structural steel on site, but they leave a heat-affected, slightly rough edge and throw sparks, which matters if you are working near flammable materials or need a precise finish. Band saws and cold cutting methods give a cleaner cut at the cost of speed.

Cold cutting, using a saw or shear rather than an abrasive disc, avoids the heat-affected zone entirely, which matters for galvanised steel where heat burns off the zinc coating and creates fumes, and for any application where distortion or discolouration from heat is unacceptable.

Pipe cutters give a square, burr-free cut that threading or compression fittings rely on, a cut made with a disc cutter or hacksaw often needs additional deburring and squaring before a fitting will seal properly, adding time that a proper pipe cutter avoids from the start.
