Description

10m Drain Rod Hire Blockage Clearing & Pipe Cleaning Set These semi-flexible, robust drain rods are for clearing relatively straight, short-to-medium drainpipes. Ideal for blockages, these drain rod sets feature 10 x 1m rods that you can screw together to a maximum length of 10m. To use the rods, screw them together and push them through the pipe, steadily turning them clockwise to avoid them from unfastening. Continue to push the rods in until you can feel the blockage, then use them to break through the blockage and loosen it. To remove the rods, continue turning them clockwise as you pull them back out of the drain. Follow this up with plenty of water to wash through any residue. When clearing blockages or cleaning a drain, you should always wear PVC gloves, eye protection and overalls, as it can be a messy business. There is also a chance of picking up an illness from drain waste. Never put your hands into the drain to prevent the risk of becoming stuck or hurting yourself on something obscured. Remember, prevention is always better than cure, so take care when flushing objects down plug holes and toilets. It is also advisable to regularly clear leaves and other foliage from outside drains, covering mesh or netting entrance to prevent a blockage from developing inside the pipe. We supply drain rods with a worm, 100mm plunger, and 100mm scraper included as standard. You can add a clearing wheel, 150mm plunger, drain brush and chimney sweep brush to your order during checkout.
