Paint Sprayer Hire Across the UK

Getting a professional finish from a hired sprayer

Airless sprayers are best for walls, ceilings, and large exterior surfaces, handling emulsion, masonry paint, and exterior coatings without thinning. HVLP (high volume low pressure) sprayers suit fine finishing work like cabinets and trim, producing less overspray and a smoother finish, but usually need the paint thinned slightly.

Tip size controls both spray pattern width and how much paint is laid down per pass. A tip that's too large for the paint's viscosity causes tails and uneven coverage; too small and you'll be making excessive passes to build coverage. Always check the sprayer's tip chart against the paint you're using.

Masking and overspray control take longer than the spraying itself on most jobs. Wind is the biggest enemy outdoors, even a light breeze carries fine overspray a surprising distance, so plan exterior spraying for calm conditions and mask anything within several metres of the target surface.
