Hedge Trimmer Hire Across the UK

Timing and technique for hedge cutting

Late spring and early autumn are the best windows for most garden hedges, timed to avoid the main bird nesting season (roughly March to August) when it's an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act to disturb an active nest. Check hedges for nests before cutting if you're working during this window.

Long-reach pole trimmers handle tall hedges without a ladder, which is both faster and considerably safer than balancing on steps with a standard trimmer. For hedges taller than a pole trimmer's reach, consider access equipment rather than extending the job unsafely.

A gap forming between the trimmer's cutting blades over time reduces cut quality and increases the effort needed to push through branches; this is normal wear and is checked between hires so you always start with a properly set blade gap.
