- Mortar: at 1:4, one 25kg bag of cement lays about 110 bricks. A 6m x 2.4m half brick extension wall (864 bricks) needs about 7.9 bags before waste, or 9 bags with 10% added for waste, plus about 0.87 tonnes of building sand before waste, or 0.96 tonnes with 10% added for waste.
