Licensing and choosing the right forklift

All forklift operators must hold a valid licence, RTITB, ITSSAR, or CPCS depending on the site and machine category. If you don't have a qualified operator, most depots can arrange operated forklift hire with the operator, fuel, and machine included.

Capacity ratings drop as lift height and reach increase, this is shown on the truck's load chart, not just a single tonnage figure. Always check the load chart against your actual lift height and load weight, not just the truck's nameplate rating at ground level.
