Cherry pickers are mechanical access platforms. You use them for completing all kinds of jobs at height, and they reduce the risk of a fall. Cherry pickers are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They allow operators to reach extreme heights and awkward, confined spaces. They are ideal for construction, inspection, installation, decoration, maintenance, repair, and more. Pickers can provide better outreach than scissor lifts and reach higher levels.

We work with local hire depots across the UK to supply boom lifts and cherry pickers from reputable manufacturers, such as Nifty, JLG, Haulotte, and Genie. These units are available in a range of sizes, up to a maximum working height of 58m. We also supply electric, diesel, and bi-energy machines and both telescopic and articulated boom lifts.

Telescopic Boom Lifts

Telescopic boom lifts provide excellent height and horizontal outreach. You can use them for working at high levels indoors and outdoors. These aerial work platforms offer temporary access to hard to reach areas, usually when it is not accessible from below. They are ideal for reaching suspended bridges, steelworks, building exteriors, and other structures. If your work point is over rough terrain, water, or obstacles, they are ideal.

We have an excellent range of telescopic boom lifts available, from the 14m Haulotte H14TX boom lift to the 58m JLG 1850SJ boom lift. We have electric units for indoor use and diesel units for outdoor use. Hybrid cherry pickers are suitable for both enclosed spaces and external applications.

Articulated Boom Lifts

Articulated boom lifts provide extended height and outreach. You can use them for working at high levels both indoors and outdoors. These AWPs are also referred to as knuckle booms. They are called this because of how the sections of the boom bend and fold at the joint. The joints allow the work platform to move in different directions. Articulated boom lifts are ideal for accessing areas around and above obstacles and up into tight spaces.

We have an excellent range of articulating boom lifts available, with maximum working heights of up to 40m. We also have electric boom lifts, diesel boom lifts, and bi-energy boom lifts. Electric units are ideal for enclosed spaces as they do not produce emissions. Diesel units are perfect for external applications. Bi-energy lifts are versatile enough to use anywhere.

We also have lifts with non-marking tyres to protect certain surfaces and rough terrain vehicles for use on uneven ground.

Can anyone hire a cherry picker?

You do not need a PAL card or IPAF training to legally operate a cherry picker under 3.5 tons. But, you must be at least 18 and hold a full, valid driver's licence. The health and safety legislation for height regulations 2005 also states that all operatives using MEWP equipment must be competent and trained via a recognised scheme.

How much is it to hire a cherry picker?

The rate of a cherry picker rental can vary depending on the working load limit and maximum reach. There is a higher rate for mounted cherry pickers as they need a driver for operation.
